Current Projects - Preparing Students for Academic Success
The Junior League of Indianapolis has been committed to the health and education of children and their families for the past 90 years. Currently, JLI has a particular emphasis on education and preparing students for academic success. Since 2011, we have invested more than $500,000 in this issue area.
2014-2015 Projects and Partnerships:
Pre-K Classrooms: Day Nursery at Phalen Leadership Academy and Vision Academy - A Model for Establishing High Quality Pre-K Programs in Schools
We are excited to support a new model for establishing high-quality Pre-K programs in schools in the 2014-2015 League year. JLI will be one of the key supporters of Day Nursery at Phalen Leadership Academy. This partnership brings together two of the organizations that the JLI has supported in 2013-2014 (Day Nursery with $60,000 in funding for the Center for Infants and Toddlers and Phalen Leadership Academy with a $25,000 grant for the Summer Advantage program). The JLI will be providing volunteers as well as tuition assistance for low-income families. This exciting new Pre-K program is enrolling students now. Read more
