Erika (Hall) Steuerwald, Board Director-at-Large, joined the Junior League of Indianapolis in 2013. Erika currently leads JLI’s State Public Affairs Committee. Her goal as State Public Affairs Chair is to strengthen women’s voices in public policy. She has served as Holiday Mart Site Committee Chair, Provisional Mentor, and as member of the Holiday Mart, Training, and State Public Affairs Committees. While serving as a Provisional Mentor, the Provisional Committee was awarded the “Committee of the Year.” Additionally, she was chosen to attend the AJLI’s 2018 Organizational Development Institute in Orlando. Erika cares deeply about the JLI’s mission of developing the potential of women and improving the community through the effective action of trained volunteers. “We rise by lifting others.” – Robert Ingersoll
Erika holds her Bachelor and Law degrees from Indiana University. Go Hoosiers! She currently works at the Indiana State Department of Health as a Staff Attorney, where she represents the Department in regulatory and litigation matters. Erika is active in the Indianapolis Bar Association, serving on the Executive Boards of the Women’s Law Division and the Health Care and Life Sciences Division. She is also an active member of The Policy Circle. Erika and her husband, Adam, currently reside on the north side of Indianapolis with their dog Kona. In her free time, she enjoys attending fitness classes, hiking, and playing volleyball.
