The 2021-2022 Community Assistance Grant Cycle identified several non-profit agencies in need of additional support to further the JLI mission of preparing students  for academic success. The winner of this year’s largest grant is Tindley Accelerated School, which received a check for $30,000 to expand its Innovation Lab. The Innovation Lab will serve almost 1,100 elementary, middle, and high school scholars and allow them to share, explore, and build, while increasing their engineering and critical thinking skills.

This Innovation Lab will be located at the middle/high school and will serve a majority of black and brown scholars, with over 85% receiving free or reduced lunch, who otherwise would not have these learning opportunities.
