Serving the Community

Serving the Needs of Youth in Foster and Kinship Care

The Junior League of Indianapolis (JLI) serves the community by providing volunteers and funds for community projects throughout Indianapolis. Our volunteer opportunities connect JLI with other nonprofit organizations, where JLI can provide trained volunteers to the partnering organization.

To be selected, an organization must:

  • serve a constituency in Marion or a surrounding county; and,
  • propose a program that either complements the JLI’s mission statement or falls within our current community focus area which is serving the needs of youth in foster and kinship care.

Direct Service Projects

Through direct service opportunities, JLI provides organizations volunteers for single-day events or projects. JLI volunteers have served at a variety of events with organizations around Indianapolis, often participating in two to three projects a month. We provide groups of trained volunteers ready to assist organizations with ongoing programming or a signature event. Please submit your service request with a minimum of 6-8 weeks in advance of the program date. Due to our governing documents, JLI does not provide volunteers for non-profit fundraising events and prioritizes hands-on experiences impacting the mission of the non-profit partners.
