Member Training

The Junior League of Indianapolis is the premiere training organization for women in Indianapolis! JLI was founded as an organization that trains women to be effective leaders and volunteers within the community in line with its mission statement: The Junior League of Indianapolis is an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women, and improving the community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers.

The training JLI provides to its volunteers sets it apart from other volunteer organizations.

The JLI provides training for its members in the following ways:

All Leadership Training

Specialized orientation for existing and incoming leaders that provides information on how to be an effective leader.

General Membership Meetings

Meetings of the membership provide training and JLI business information in a large group setting. Speakers are often brought in to educate, inform and inspire JLI members.

League Leadership and Committee Placements

JLI members have the opportunity to be placed on committees and in leadership roles, which positions are a source of training by their very nature.    You will have the opportunity to choose a placement(s) during your service with the JLI and impact your personal and/or professional goals.

Provisional Training

All new members of the JLI participate in training about JLI and its rich history, and the importance and impact of involvement in the community.
