Laura Peterson, Secretary

Laura Peterson joined the Junior League of Indianapolis in 2019, where she has served in several roles including the Community Impact Committee Co-Chair and the Placement Chair. Laura also volunteers for her sorority, Alpha Chi Omega, as the lead risk management specialist. She received her undergraduate degree in psychology from Bradley University and her master’s degree in higher education at Illinois State University

Laura joined the Live Like Lou Foundation team in 2022 as the Program and Engagement Director. Live Like Lou focuses on supporting families affected by ALS, funding ALS research to find treatments or a cure for Lou Gehrig’s disease, and honoring Lou Gehrig’s legacy. In her role she works closely with the organizations ALS families, emerging researchers, and events. Laura’s career in nonprofit and higher education has found her in roles serving several universities (Marian University, University of Notre Dame, and University of St. Francis, IL) where she has led programming, events, volunteers, and student activities. She served the American Legion Auxiliary in coordinating state-wide and national events and programming for its volunteers.
