Training for JLI members

The Junior League of Indianapolis is the premiere training organization for women in Indianapolis! JLI was founded as an organization that trains women to be effective leaders and volunteers within the community. According to our mission statement: The Junior League of Indianapolis is an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women, and improving the community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers.

The training JLI provides to our volunteers is what sets us apart from other volunteer organizations.

The JLI provides training for its members in the following ways:

Leadership Development Course - This course is designed to bring together the emerging and potential leaders of the Junior League of Indianapolis and train them in varying leadership skills through a series of professional programs. The course also seeks to inspire participants to accept leadership roles within the Junior League of Indianapolis and our community.

All Leadership Training is an orientation for existing and incoming leaders that provides information on how to be an effective leader.

General Membership Meetings provide training and general League information in a large group setting. Speakers are often brought in to educate, inform and inspire.

Sectionals take the place each fall and spring and provide trainings on various topics interested in by membership.

Placements are a source of training by their nature. Volunteers can receive a variety of training in each of our placement opportunities. You will have the opportunity to choose your placements during your service with the JLI and impact your own training goals.

The Provisional Course teaches the newest members about the JLI and the importance and impact of our community involvement.
