Maeleen Hurley, Resource Development VP

Maeleen Hurley joined the Junior League of Indianapolis in 2011 after moving from San Francisco, California in 2010.  Born on the Big Island of Hawaii, she graduated from Occidental College with a major in Politics and a minor in Asian Studies.  She earned her JD and an American Jurisprudence award in Negotiation from the USF School of Law. S he practiced law before becoming the Marketing and Vendor Relations Branch Operations supervisor for a national software training company.   Her duties included maintaining compliance with State of California post-secondary education regulations and managing financial and performance metrics. Upon moving to Indianapolis, she used her many years of volunteer experience including serving as PTA president of schools both in San Francisco and Indianapolis, president of Mothers & More, a national mother’s association and vice-president of the Butler-Tarkington Neighborhood Association, to become the Volunteer Coordinator at Westminster Village North, a continuing care retirement community.

She has six years of experience with Holiday Mart, serving as the Special Events co-chair and chair the following year, then Hospitality member and Tickets Co-Chair for 2 years.  In 2013, she attended the AJLI’s Organizational Development Institute in Indianapolis and was energized with ways to empower women.  She is excited to be the VP of Resource Development and share her aloha spirit of kindness and diplomacy with our members.  Maeleen enjoys warm weather, creative pursuits and spending time with her husband John, their two children Brendan and Julia and their rescue dog, Tubbs.
